Today was an unforgettable Daddy-daughter day at California Adventure. I was thrilled to see Carsland and Buena Vista street for the first time, and I was even more thrilled to watch Katie discover Silly Symphony Swings and Goofy’s Sky School. She loved them!
Carsland…um… yeah…I was speechless. After watching the construction for 3+ years, it was amazing to finally see it in person.
Big B in line with Daddy for Radiator Springs Racers. Katie was thrilled, but I think I was more thrilled.
Very detailed queue. It reminds me a lot of Big Thunder.
Katie in front of Radiator Spring.
Looking out from the station at the queue. It was great to see it all up close.
Katie is in the back-left seat.
The attraction is spectacular. It will be an anchor for the entire resort for decades to come. Below is a very good video of the entire ride.
The rest of Radiator Springs is a faithful representation of the town in the film.
Soon after we got there, the line for Racers was well over 2 hours. Well worth it if you have the time.
Katie’s having a blast at Dot’s Puddle Park.
Looking down at Paradise Bay from the Fun Wheel.
Buena Vista Street is beautiful. What an amazing improvement.
Carsland at night is stunning.
We ended the night on Luigi’s Flying Tires.
I didn’t get a picture of Katie on the Silly Symphony swings, but it was a memory I’ll never forget. Katie and I were riding in a double swing, and when the ride took off, she yelled, “Daddy, daddy, I’m flying!” I thought of her as a premie in the NICU and couldn’t believe this was the same girl. You’ve grown up to be such a big girl, Katie. I love you so much. -Daddy
